Integrated Thematic Unit Project
The Integrated Thematic Unit Project was an assignment from the teacher credential program designed to integrate two or more subject areas into one unit.
As part of the assignment, we worked in small teams to design a unit that would incorporate a service learning element, a Visual and Performing Arts element, and/or content from multiple subjects. My group decided to create a unit in which students A) research the issues that face homeless teens in San Diego, and then B) use the computer game Minecraft to build a 3D model of a potential homeless shelter for San Diego teens.
